Your Reel went viral. On someone else's account.
Next time the video still says @you. Creatag burns your @ into the clip before you post: animated, spread across the frame, still there after someone downloads it.
Requires iOS 18. iPhone only. All features require PRO subscription.
How does a repost end up without your name?
Usually in three steps: you post the video, someone saves a copy — with a screen recording, a downloader site, or the app's own save button — and they upload that file to their own account. The caption and your profile stay behind; only what is in the frame travels with the copy.
- 01
You post it
The clip goes out with your handle in the caption and your name on the profile.
- 02
Someone takes the file
A screen recording, a downloader site, or the app's own save button gives them the video file. Your caption and your profile don't come with it.
- 03
Their copy travels
It gets posted, reposted, and saved — and unless your name is in the frame, it is easy for those copies to carry nothing that points back to you.
Why won't the platform's own watermark save you?
Because it isn't yours, and it isn't guaranteed. TikTok says a saved video may carry its logo and the creator's username, depending on the creator's settings; Instagram adds its watermark and the username when someone uses its Download button. A mark you burn in yourself doesn't depend on how the copy was made.
That is the gap Creatag fills: your mark is burned into the pixels before the video reaches a platform, so copies made from it — screen recordings included — carry the mark unless someone cuts it out.
There is no separate layer to switch off, so the mark travels with reposts and reshares. A tiled, moving mark is also the hardest kind to take out cleanly.
Can I add an animated watermark to a video on iPhone?
Yes. Pick from a big set of effects — Neon, Glow, Glitch, Slide, Bounce, and more — and Creatag burns the motion straight into the exported video. It keeps moving in any app you post it to.

Does a watermark hurt your reach on Reels?
No, not your own. Instagram's head, Adam Mosseri, said in October 2024 that a creator's own logo or handle on a Reel does not affect reach — what gets recommended less is a visible watermark from another app, such as a TikTok logo on a Reel.
“If you watermark a Reel with your own logo, will that affect its reach? The answer is no, that's actually good to go. What we try to do is not recommend Reels with logos from other apps, but if it's your own logo, don't worry about it.”
What a watermark can't promise
It can't make your video theft-proof. A mark in one corner is easy to crop off, and removal tools exist. A mark that repeats across the frame and moves is much harder to take out cleanly, and that is the honest claim: Creatag makes stealing your video quietly hard, not impossible.
If you want the strongest version, tile the mark across the whole frame and add motion. Cropping then costs the thief the framing of the shot, and the mark is still there in the rest of the frame.
Questions creators ask about watermarking Reels
Will it look ugly?
Not if you keep it light. Lower the opacity, pick one of the built-in fonts, and place the mark where the action isn't — a tiled pattern at low opacity reads as texture rather than as a stamp.
Doesn't the TikTok watermark already do this?
Not reliably. TikTok says a saved video may carry its logo and your username depending on your settings, and a corner logo is easy to crop. On Instagram, a TikTok logo on a Reel is exactly the mark Instagram says it recommends less. Your own mark, burned in before you post, depends on neither.
Can I add my @ in CapCut instead?
You can add a text layer in any editor. The difference is repetition: Creatag saves the mark as a template so you never rebuild it, tiles it across the frame, animates it with a big set of effects, and with PRO applies it to a whole batch of photos and videos in one job.
Does it work on photos too?
Yes. The same template goes on photos and video.
Put your @ on the next clip before you post it
Make the mark once, drop it on any video, and export. The free tier includes video exports, so you can see how it looks on your own footage first.
